\r\n \r\n

This CD contains 22 tracks of Traditional Irish Music from the 1920's and 1930's, originally released as 78rpm records. This is the first of a proposed series of releases from Oldtime Records. None of the tracks have previously been re-released. Vol.1 contains a variety of recordings; there are solo and duet selections on fiddle, flute, accordion, pipes and banjo; as well as band instrumentals and vocal tracks. Well-known artists of the era, such as the Flanagan Brothers, James Morrison and Paddy Killoran can be heard; as well as lesser known greats such as the Four Provinces Orchestra and Martin Beirne with his band. The records on this CD were first recorded in the U.S. between 1921 and 1938. Many of the tracks selected here are very rare records, some being originally recorded for small and obscure Irish-American record labels. \r\n
